ASAE vs Non ASAE cylinders

I was looking into purchasing a cylinder for my grapple project and was wondering what is the difference between a ASAE and NON ASAE cylinder??

Are you referring to the fittings (ports)?

Well I really don't know to be honest. Here is two part numbers from Baileynet.com

215-102 is a 8" stroke cylinder and 215-103 is also a 8" cylinder but it says ASAE and the only difference I can see in specs is the ASAE is 2" longer collapsed length and 2" longer extended length.

ASAE cylinders are interchangeable (brand to brand)

Non ASAE cylinders are odd ball or "*******" sizes.
