NO i try not to be ,unless im trying to get under someones skin /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifA KUBOTA will turn my head, cause im seeing if its like mine.I love to look at all the tractors up close. What does tee me off ,is when someone insults my tractor, then i will let the mouth get ahead of the brain, and i see red.If you dont like it leave it be.To me colors of tractors are similar to people,we are all about the same, you got good ones and you got bad ones.

I was definitely a tractor snob when I joined this forum, but not any more. I shouted the praises of my CC to those asking the questions. But came to realize that the attributes that were important to me were not as important to others... and even thought other colors might be slightly off in the 'numerical' battle of the specs, that doesn't mean they're not an excellent machine. Also, watching the way advice was offered by the likes of Bird and Miller made me more 'tolerant' of the other colors. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As for the brew snobery..... sorry guys...it's Jack on the rocks for me. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

YUP, count me in the snob crowd.

I'm not politically correct either.

I'm not concerned about the brand, but I am concerned about the support and the service and the dealer. I don't want a brand that does not control its dealers, that does not require them to invest in adequate parts inventory or does not train/certify the repair technicians. Sorry, but I don't want to buy a tractor from a dealer that just set up shop, has not been around for decade and has not invested himself in the community. I don't want a roadside trailer dealership that couldn't honor a warranty even if they wanted to.

I want a brand that will pull its tractors off the dealer's lot if the dealer fails to honor warrenty work, or fails to hire qualified repair people. I want a dealership that has trained professionals ready to repair my machine, I want a dealership that has mobile service trucks to repair a tractor on my property, I want a dealership with full service repair bays and a depth of knowledge that can sell me what I need, repair it if it breaks, and take care of my needs on other issues beyond just the tractor.

Sure I'm a tractor snob. I admit it. I don't care what brand you own. I've got friends who own brands I would not. I don't look down on them for making their choice, and they are happy with their brands. But I won't buy one unless it meets my criteria of having all that I previously mentioned.

You do what you want. You buy what you want.

I choose to buy only a brand that requires a high level of compliance with high standards. I'm a snob. So be it. This is America, I'm allowed to be.

Bob, as much as you support your American troops, people in need, and the people on this site-you can be anything you want to be. I don't think you're a snob though.

Heck, I've been accused of being a lot worse. And I wear the banner of being a 'blunt jerk' with pride. So I think I can admit to being a 'tractor snob' too. But I think I justified my position pretty well, and I'm willing to defend it.

Actually they may surprise you sometimes. I bought my first brand new TV, ever, there last year because it was "Assembled" in USA. Funny thing though, the program quality isn't any better than on it.

I agree with Boondox. I don't think I'm a tractor snob, have owned Ford, Massey, Oliver, International. The only tractor snobs I've met seem to be dealers. When I went to buy my new tractor (Kioti) I looked at NH, Kubota, JD, and International. They all said they would be out to look at my trade in, none ever called or came out. I guess my price range of $18K was to low for them to bother.

If the brewery wasn't established in the 14th century, I won't even taste the beer. But my tractor is gray market. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm not a tractor snob, but sometimes my wife accuses of me of being a tractor slob (that wonderful mix of diesel, grease and dirt on old jeans.)

Ron, my friend, I don't think I've ever seen you post so few word to state your position on anything.
Welcome to the Tractor Snob club. Heck, I'd be honored if you would be our leader /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( I have a problem doing business with a country that is still killing its people if they try to leave.)

[rant]Think of it this way, if a company based right here in the good ole USA was selling products less expensively than all of its competitors because it paid its employees meager wages and held them captive from trying to change jobs, would you buy that company's products? In this country (and in many others) we have laws that protect workers. I have no problem buying a tractor or anything else from a foreign country that competes on a level playing field. I think it makes perfects sense for us, however, to "discriminate" against countries that don't compete fairly. Not because I don't think it's just as important for Chinese workers to have jobs as American workers. Quite the opposite. The Chinese factory worker has a family to feed just like the American worker. However, if we buy products from a regime that is exploiting the workers in the long run we're doing no favors to the Chinese worker and, who knows, if we continue strengthening that regime it may not be long before we're living under the same conditions.[/rant]

I was a snob before I bought my tractor, I would only consider NH, Kubota, MF or JD. I couldn't afford to get what I wanted in those brands so I was a snob w/o a tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Then Jinman suggested Kioti and a few other brands, took a look and the rest is history. Now if you don't own a Kioti you're just not cool and your tractor is bad!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
That last line is a joke, do not salivate, panic or burst a blood vessel!! I'm just grateful to have a tractor, never in my dreams did I think I'd own land and a tractor before I was too old to use them. The best tractor is the one you own and love and the very best tractor is paid for. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
