Yes, they both do the same thing, but the amount of refinement between the components of the two is almost immeasurable.

Both made in China as well. The only difference is oversight, nothing more.

Because, it's a PUBLIC forum and I can.... I can comment on anything I chose to regardless if it's germane to me or not.

I don't give a hoot about post count and never have, that is not germane to me at all. I come here to share my experience, suggest ways of dealing with issues that others may have (or imagine they have) and finally for entertainment and to elicit negative comments from those that 'assume' something that isn't at all true. You 2 need to get a life... DK35 Vince and PTSG. There is life after TbyNet after all.

5030, I don't think anyone is challenging your right to post drivel; more likely is that it dilutes the TBN interesting and useful comments. Cases in point- you eat oatmeal and a 'naner for breakfast. Also you don't like GM products. Those weren't incidental to your main point- those were your only point. C'mon.

It is tough to find a lot of information on these tractors, which may be the first sign to stay away. But the T394 with a cab can be had for such a great price that it is hard for me to stop looking at it. Comparable tractors from Kubota and JD are around $10k more near me. I have done a lot of searching and it seems as though a lot of people are perfectly happy with them, and some complain about parts availability. The T394 has a yanmar engine which I assume is pretty common.

This would be for relatively light duty usage on 6 acres. Mostly clearing woods, building smaller gardens, maybe snow plowing, and helping save my back with various projects. I was looking at just getting a SCUT but they almost seem like they are the worst compromise. They don't mow as well as a riding lawn mower, and can't really lift that much, and are pretty expensive.

Sorry you've had problems dude, but you made your point. You seem to be an anomaly. Repeating the same complaint will not solve your problem.

I think that particular website just posts random stuff and changes the names around. One of the-problems is "blunt blades". TYM makes tractors, not cutters. No blades to be blunt haha. It is basically a click bait site.

Torvy your welcome, I just try to put up information that
might be of help to someone.
If you search like: Ford [just put any tractor name] tractor
problems will give you problems and sometimes the easy
fix you never know who might need the info.
Anyone who don't have a parts list for their tracto;r should
do this: FREE PARTS LIST/REPAIR MANUAL [TRACTOR
NAME AND YEAR]
Sometimes the parts list/repair manual will show you were the
part is or give you a diagram of the different parts so you have
an idea of how to disassemple what your working on

FWIW, I am now going through the same experience on my T494. 13 hours and it is sitting in the barn unusable...TYM won't even return my dealers calls about it. apparently 1 out of 100 are lemons and spacegun and I are the "lucky" ones. All that to say, if you roll the dice on 1 of these make sure you buy from a dealer that is very close so you have someone to fix the big problems that happen when they break.

Seems like with this class of tractor you either get a good one or a bad one. We had a 2007 century/branson we should have never traded on this 494. 18 years without a single issue. stupid, stupid stupid of us to trade it in on a new one.

If you think getting parts NOW is difficult, wait until these tractors are 10 or 20 years old. They will be a pile of scrap metal....
