LS 4046XR HST
I have an LS 4046 XR HST tractor and it is not running right. After 30 seconds it shuts down. I believe it is the regeneration switch (is red).....and I don't know what to do to clean or clear the problem.....any suggestions would be so appreciated!
I have held the switch down for 15 seconds, BC the blinking red light would not turn off. I ran the engine at 1500 to 1800 RPM but it automatically shuts down. I did this for 1.6 hours! Start it again & again.
I thought if I could clean the shut collector & re install it I might be able to by pass a long trip to the dealer.
Some one didn't understand what a red light flashing all day for 3 weeks was important!!!!!!!
Thanks for any help!

The dpf is clogged. According to the computer. I had a xr 4046 also and it did the same thing. It was under warranty dealer put an updated motherboard.

When you say your holding the switch down are you holding the Regen inhibit? On my 3135 I had to run it up to over 2000rpm to get it up to temp to regen.

Try cleaning or replacing both fuel filters.

Try cleaning or replacing both fuel filters.

If the dpf is plugged past a certain percent then dealer will have to force it to burn with there computer and there program, don't know if anyone else will have the program for ls tractors.

I don't have my manual in front of me but I think you are at a point where the dealer will need to do it. If you can't keep it running you can't do a regen.

Once its working again the bigger question will be how you managed to get to this point so you don't do it again. Either you were hitting the regen inhibit switch each time or you were not operating it at a high enough RPM to generate enough heat to regen.

Please keep us updated so we can all learn from this. Good luck.
