Are calcium filled tires a horror show?

18 years with Calcium chloride filled rear tires (no tubes) and not issues at all up to this point. Rim Guard was not available in my area when I bought the tractor new - I asked for it, but no one in our area was in to it (though my asking around did prompt some people to get into it later). Despite not having any problems, the first time those tires come off the rims, the CaCl will get replaced with Rim Guard or something similar.

First time off the rims after 18 years of CaCl -- I'd clean the rims right down to the metal and look for corrosion. If you get by without serious damage, use tubes when you reassemble and put the Rimgard or whatever noncorrosive liquid in the tubes.
