We are a multi OS family. For my business, we only use PCs which are currently all running windows 10. I co manage our IT department and we almost never have any problems in regards to software.

On the personal side, we all use iPhones, and I am the only PC user in the house. My kids went thru college on MacBooks and never had any issues. My wife uses a Mac for all of our personal needs and we’ve never experienced any issues.

I bought a MacBook Pro in 2015 just out of curiosity and actually really liked it. Great display, battery life, and compatibility with my iPhone. My daughter got ahold of it and didn’t want to give it back. I ended up going back to a PC for home, but honestly it’s no better or worse than my MacBook was.

My Apple //e still works without any issue... every now and then I need to pull up an old letter or lease from 40 years ago... still reads the Floppy just fine.

I think of the Apple //e as the Model A of computers...

You are so old school, you crack me up. I'm surprised you've bought into this new "internet thing".

If your computer is something like this one, it is so old that it's now valuable!

On an off topic question, if you work in an IT department, do you write your own software / code, or do you buy canned programs and have to have a 3rd party re write programs if you see changes need to be made in the software?

People tell me that Apple computers are really wonderful and that I should ditch my Dell with Internet Explorer and Windows 10. I'm pretty computer savvy.
What do people with Apples think?

Windows 10 is responsible for my "defection" and I must say that I should have done it sooner! For me everything is better and Apple support is support not like MS only a name.

Yep... and I can go one better... Have the original boxes and packing when bought new and a Apple 40 cps daisy wheel printer and a box of decals apple sent me... Working minimum wage a 3000 purchase was 3x more than I paid for my car!

Speaking of Apple. If someone could explain to be, what the purpose of this would be, I would appreciate it.

Think of it as outsourcing your computer workload to this datacenter, things like your company's webserver and databases. As a customer, you don't have to maintain your own computer equipment, network, and backup power, etc.

The datacenter designers probably picked Macs because of the small footprint and easy cooling, and because they think Macs are cool.

Yes they do emulate a Mac. That's their primary purpose; to provide a virtual space for mac developers.
