I own both types as well. The heavy duty bucket is indeed more robust. The only problem is, it weighs more, which lessens the lifting capacity of the FEL.
Not appreciably more, maybe 100 pounds my case, 100 pounds is trivial. I have almost 3K lift capacity on both mine.

I see that I'd probably need to bring my tractor to actually get it home. At least I could check the clearance. I'm seriously considering it.

Or make a cardboard cutout of ballast's footprint, including the lower pins, to see if your lower links will splay enough to hook it up, and if the front ballast corners clear your lower links. Might save you a trip.
