Hey guys (and gals),
I fabricated this backhoe a couple of years ago to do some projects around the house and I now need to get rid of it. I'm asking 4999.00. I also have a snow blower for 1499.00. Here are some details.
Backhoe:
I fabricated this backhoe myself using the same geometry as a New Holland 758C backhoe. It works great and exceeds the performance of the 758C (see below). All of the pivots, arm lengths, etc are the same so the digging depth and swing are the same. This backhoe was made to fit onto my 2001 New Holland TC25D compact tractor and therefore includes the custom subframe and associated mounting bracketry that holds the subframe onto the tractor. One of the pictures below shows the rear subframe mount bolted to the tractor. The subframe can be used/modified to fit other tractors for sure. The backhoe can also be used in a 3pt configuration. Also included are custom dollies I made with swiveling castor wheels which really help out moving the backhoe around my cement garage floor. The backhoe was always garage kept and was never used commercially. I used it around my house for landscaping projects and it really doesn't have much time on it. It also comes with a
manually adjustable thumb to pick up rocks, logs, etc. If your interested to see the similarities, I have pictures of both my bachhoe and the New Holland 758C model.
There are a few bonus features I built into my version:
1. The hydraulic cylinders and control valve have been sourced from Prince Hydraulics which makes them much easier and cheaper to replace and maintain.
2. The control valve employs a parallel fluid circuit not a series circuit. What this means is that the operator doesn't have to "feather" the controls nearly as much during simultaneous cylinder acutation. All cylinders see the same pressure, not just the one with least resistance as is the case in a series circuit.
3. I used slightly bigger cylinders resulting in increased digging force.
4. The dipperstick, and boom arms have larger cross sections and have been strengthened.
5. The bucket is a 18" Bradco heavy duty bucket so other Bradco bucket sizes can be swapped and replacement teeth can be purchased.
6. The swing cylinders are standard Prince cylinders mounted in trunnion sleeves. Trunnion mount cylinders are expensive. This setup enables you to use regular cylinders which are easy to find and replace.
Snow Blower:
This is a used 5 foot (60 inch) rear mounted 3 pt AgroTrend snow blower. The paint isn't perfect in spots, but it works great and really clears/throws the snow. I made two custom mods to it that can be removed if you don't want them. One is custom wide shoes that work great on stone driveways. They have a criss-crossed hardfacing pattern on the bottom to resist wear. The second is an electric chute swivel mechanism that is connected to your tractors 12V electrical system and a momentary double throw (right and left chute swivel) switch. This is a real convenience and makes directing snow where you want it a snap!
