Anyone have problems getting their tractor serviced from dealers they didn’t buy from

Well as far as local dealer the big line dealerships are all getting bought up and put under a corporate umbrella,
our "local" Deere dealer used to be an individual and family operation, Deere pressured them to sell out to a larger dealer that had several shops,
now that dealership is out and I hear the new owners have close to 50 shops.
So much for buying local every time it has changed hands to discount on parts has decreased.
International or CNH isn't much better there are no small dealers the manufactures don't want them.

I know getting service done is an issue if you don't by from local as well as getting parts. I just called the local dealer for hydraulic filters for a NX5010 (filters are common among other tractors they do sell), he said they've never sold one of those and asked where I bought it.....I told him and immediately was told they don't have filters for it. Good way to drive me off toward another color tractor or a different shade of orange :confused3:.

Just look up the filters online and order them. You will have them in your garage when you need the. It is a 2 hour round trip for me to go buy filters from my nearest Kioti dealer. I let my fingers do the walking on a keyboard.

I did a crossover with Napa and found a hydraulic filter in stock, luckily.

This is very interesting. I just had a conversation today with my local dealer about this. I am in the process of purchasing a new CK3510SEHC. My local guy does not have one and was not sure he could get one. I told him another dealer has one and the price quoted that he could not match. He said yea I usually cost a little more. I proceeded to ask if he would be willing to do warranty work if I bought from someone who had the tractor in stock. He straight up told me that if my tractor was in his shop and a customer of his brought one in for service they would stop work on mine and fix the customers first. I could read between the lines - don’t buy from me don’t bring it to me. Well that sux because they are 10 miles down the road compared to 50. I will never set foot in that guys place again for anything. Used to buy chainsaw oil and chains and other small engine stuff from them. They are the closest Husqvarna dealer also. Guess I’m driving to Marcellus for Husky stuff and Ontario for Kioti stuff.

Re: Anyone have problems getting their tractor serviced from dealers they didn稚 buy

I don't mind paying a reasonable higher price to deal locally but I do expect quality customer service. I just carried my Branson to my dealer for service. First time ever as I always have done my own service. It is going to take a few weeks which I am ok with and am paying a premium price for the service.

I guarantee you I will inspect the tractor closely when I get it back and expect everything to have been completed and correct. If not, they will know about it.

I'd almost swear we lived in the same area as the dealer I'm referring to is also 10 miles away....however, the nicest dealer, who didn't care where I bought it, is about 140 miles away...🙄. I really hate to say it but I'm about to change colors on my tractor possibly because of this.

I have not had any problems with Kioti dealer service, in regard to the original purchase location. I guess it does happen, and it is really a bad business practice to turn away service or prioritize service based on where you purchased your machine. You loose customers and reputation that way very quickly. Most tractor dealerships derive the bulk of their revenue from service.

The nearest Kubota dealer to me, at end of mowing season, will pull in probably 75 zero turns per month for annual service. And normally they see 10 tractors per week for service, which jumps to 55 per week at end of the harvest time. He services each tractor in the order they were recieved, with minor exceptions for emergency work or special warranty work.

That is sad to hear that your local dealer is such a Dick. Maybe he has been smoking too much weed out there is Weedsport, NY. Dealers make most of their money off of parts and repairs. I guess this guy is just rich and doesn't need your business. I'm glad that I didn't have this problem with my local servicing dealer. I did ask him prior to buying my tractor in Wisconsin if he would do warranty work on it. He said that he would.

Hate to break it to you, but that is standard operating procedure for almost all dealers. they will service the farmers/ commercial customers that purchased from them first, then the regular customers that purchased there, then commercial customers from other dealers then regular customers that didn't purchase from them next.
