Anyone have a solution to eradicating moles ??

I got one today. I rolled my yard last week and saw a mole run an hour later, set a trap, nothing, they went around it. I picked another run out today, it looked less likely, got one within 2 hours. If you go back in this thread to post 12 is the trap I used.

I would like someone to explain to me WHY moles, at least on my place, dig mostly under the fences. The fence around the house and when the horse pasture was fenced the vast majority of mole runs where/are under the fence rows.

My scientific wild ace guess is:

Because the dirt is softer there. No one walks or drives there. And, water hits the fence and runs down there. Birds sit on fences and poop. There's probably a bunch of nutrients right around the fence that's conducive to worms, the mole's main food. That kind if stuff.
