Anyone else have an unusually large number of hummingbirds this year?

I filled my feeder yesterday and today it was already down 1/3 inch, not bad for just the resident hummers.

Yep, after this winter experience, I will keep mine up year around. In all the years, I have never done this... actually we have had just as much action lately as in the summer!

Has anyone used the "pan" type feeders? I was reading an article about them and they said the birds really like them plus they solve the any problem as well are easier to clean.

By my count, I'm 1 hummingbird short of seeing an unusual number of hummingbirds this year.

So far I've seen 0 hummingbirds. It would be very unusual if I saw one more!

The resident little ones have been hungry, I have been filling up the feeder about once a week. I did see a male today with the bright red head. :thumbsup:

Soon the travelers will be in town and I will need to put up the second feeder. Maybe a third.

I feel guilty. Empty feeder. Will fill it tomorrow.

This is the pan style feeder. I've never used ne but understand they are easy to clean and ants avoid them. That's all I know but would like to buy one if I could find it.

Hummingbird migration maps with arrival sightings must have changed since last year since I can find only two. HB's are on the way and there has been at least one 2019 sighting already in Indiana. Most are further south. These maps need to be enlarged to better see arrival dates but it's all I can find. If anyone has anything better, please post it.

What's going on here? We're in mid-Georgia and haven't seen a single HB so far this year. We've had feeders out for 3 weeks, but no HB's. We'll put out a new set of feeders today. Spring's only 5 days away. Maybe that's the ticket?
