Anybody Weld With Batteries

So I brought the gate home and repaired the damage, but the gate post is not plumb. It was that way before, and I offered to repair it. But I need to do just a little cutting on site and maybe four inches of welding. This job is two hours away, so the logistics become expensive. My time and driving a 3/4 ton truck. At the end of the day, the bill can't be too high, and I want to make some money. Buying another welder won't accomplish that.

Rent a bigger generator to use your existing welder. Just explain your cost to the customer

Some even keep the tractor intact and just remove the deck and put a welder/generator head in it's place. Pretty slick portable riding welder. LOL.

Thanks for that. I can't imagine using anything other then the best quality jumper cables if you are going to go that route. I once heard a story of a guy screaming, waving his hands frantically, because the cheap thermoplastic jumper cables he was using to boost something got hot and the hot molten plastic was now all over his hands!

I even happen to have a Fluke DC clamp on meter in case I want to see what the current is, although tht would be hard, while welding. It does store MAX values.
