Anybody here ever make money gambling?

My seven year old son did. We stopped at a service station outside Las Vegas. The boy plunked a quarter in a one-armed-bandit and won $4. Over the station speaker system - "would the parents of the young boy, Eric, please come to the managers office".

My son was mad as a wet chicken. They could not let anybody under 18 play the slots. They gave the money to me and I later gave it to my son.

The wife was mad at me. I was supposedly watching our boy while she was in the restroom.

Too funny.

Did you quiet the wife by offering her part of the winnings. I bet that would have calmed her down.

I still do not understand the gambling mindset……

Give away money with the hopes of them giving you back MORE money……

RIGHT!

I bought one once snd I lost.

Got to play to win and I did play but no win.

I have a few times at work put in 2 bucks when it’s a group thing…

The downside is no one would come back to work if we won!

My mother in-law has won a few hundred bucks the last two times she went to the casino. She keeps pretty good track of it. Leaves the house with X dollars, comes home with X+ dollars means she won. X- dollars means she lost. She's up about $1500 on them so far this year.

i went to Vegas once ... put a grand total of $1.25 in the slot machines as we were just absorbing it all in. Won $1.75 at the end of the night. So, yeah ... I won - 50 cents :) it was the adventure of it as we were driving through.

nor do i buy lottery tickets. I just think of all the money that i saved. $2 per week in office ticket pool, for 26 yrs, would have cost me $2704.00 - every time that there was a small win (split between 45 people) the winnings were just spent on new tickets (uggh)

local casino makes a decent burger / beer night - i've met friends there for dinner 2x in the 7 yrs that casino has been in town

not my thing
