I've found myself doing the same "silly thing" when clearing snow with the backblade. I know it doesn't work, yet I seem to find myself doing it again and again ... arrrrgh. I can't seem to stop myself!!

What is it? Well, picture running the tractor with the blade up, getting lined up to the snow, dropping the blade and beginning to move it off to the side. Look back and see there is still hard packed snow on the driveway so .... I wind up pressing down on the 3pt lever harder and harder trying to get more down pressure. BUT the machine DOESN'T HAVE DOWN PRESSURE! Arrrgh! I know that. I've known it for years and years and years. yet, it seems my hand expects pushing down on that lever (that is already bottomed out!) will make the blade dig harder.

Silly!

Anyone else do silly things operating the tractor that aren't bad, but have no benefit?

When I'm driving on the road I find my foot pushing hard against the throttle pedal to go faster.

It is silly, I know it won't go any faster but my foot seems to think otherwise.

When I am scraping with my bucket and my front wheels are off the ground, i still turn the wheels.

That's like using the brakes on an airplane to slow down for landing...

I tryed that once. Didnt work so well. Cost the ol man a few hundred buck to fix his plane. Good thing it was just some alum tubing for an ultralight Quicksilver MXL. He hasent let me in his plane since then.

I know I shoudn't do it but my tractor is a gear model and on longstreches of property while bush hogging low stuff I've cut through the years and got semi managed when I get my left leg tired I'l prop it up to rest it while bushogging in cruise control leaning back a little. :shhh:

I play games with the lines I'm cutting when I mow my back field. I cut them into sections, the split them and even change from counter clockwise to clockwise just to see the trees from a different angle.

Ditto. I'm still getting used to this new-fangled hydro stuff.

Well, of course. You're suppose to cross up the front end when you catch air!

Oh, never mind, that's dirt bikes.

does singing count? I can't tell if I'm doing it right or not since the tractor is loud enough to drown me out or atleast it was until I got a cabbed tractor.

Eddie, I do that to just to keep my mind busy.
