Any idea why the C series Toolcat can't use the industrial grapple?

The Bobcat Bucket Industrial Grapple and Bobcat Fork Industrial Grapple do in fact technically work on Bobcat Toolcat C and B series, and I demoed both such attachments successfully on a Toolcat and moved pretty heavy materials, but those specific Bobcat brand attachments are not approved or recommended by Bobcat Company. Those industrial grapple models are very heavy, wide and deep, and with a full load of the heaviest of materials are not ideal for at least the B and maybe the C Toolcat lift arm, tilt and curl mechanisms.

Same is true for the Bobcat Root Grapple, which Bobcat currently only sells in 72" and 84" versions. But a third-party 63" root rake brush grapple that is less heavy performs just fine (that's what I purchased for my B series Toolcat), as do the lighter Bobcat utility forks and farm grapple attachments.

Where did you get your third party grapple? Most of my work would be with lighter brush, but I know I would also have the occasional tree trunk and stump. In your bio I see that it is a "CID" grapple. Is there a website? Thanks,

I bought the C.I.D. 63" root rake brush grapple from my Bobcat dealer; it was offered for when the Bobcat brand 72" or 84" ones are not appropriate. CID is a local Md. fabricator who works mostly with dealers and doesn't have a Web site.

It is similar to the Ammbusher Talon Grapple 63" model sold through dealers. A company which sells direct (and maybe through dealers too?) is Markham Welding in Denton, NC. I bought a small grubbing bucket /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif from them, but they also have both 60" root rake grapples and 60" bucket grapples. And they are very good about finding reasonable freight delivery, etc. There are others, but be careful about weight distribution and how the grapple opens up; be safe and comfortable.
