I wouldn’t recommend a single axle. It would probably haul the bare tractor fine but if you get ballast or a rear implement and a FEL they can get longer and heavier.

There's a good bit of spare load capacity, certainly enough for a FEL, etc. You can buy pretty robust single axles. But this can vary all over the place that is why I said to him earlier:
There really are a LOT of key questions about your needs:
1) How often will you use it per year? 2) Do you really need brakes ? 3) Is your towing vehicle overqualified (exceeding 6000 lbs) or light in the loafers like a Ford Ranger or Chevy Colorado? 4) Will your towing be in your local area or mountains with steep roads, etc.?

I wouldn't buy a single axel either.

Sell you my Kaufman Goose neck, tandem axle with new tires and brakes (last year). Needs a few deck boards but it is a deck over as well. It will load and haul anything you have but you'll need a real pickup to pull it with. 1/2 ton weenies don't work.

My tow vehicle is now a full size tundra - 5.7 4x4 etc. Will only be used a couple times a year. I think my B with backhoe loader and loaded tires is a tad over 3k. its close...maybe even close enough to get a larger single axle with the mesh sides i want and keep on the lookout for a used used car hauler. However helping the father in law with his property an hour + away may be immanent. I hate to spend 2k on trailer and worry about brakes the whole time....my last thread about this was pretty unanimous

Your transmission would go south pretty quick with my GN. The trailer alone is over 10K with a 14K payload capacity. A bit more than a Tundra can deal with. I don't consider that to be a full size truck anyway.

I have a single axle with 3500lb GVWR.
Very handy for a big bale or 2, mowers, larger parts.

the sides look annoying as heck. it looks like there are very few tie down points on the trailer you show in the OP. the mesh and sides may seem like a good idea now, but will by very annoying when you want to put a pallet on there, or lift something on and off with a forklift. the mesh prevents you from using the trailer frame to tie stuff down. I do not like running chains to upper side rails. that one you posted has angle for a "frame" all the way back and the cross members look like they are just welded to the bottom of that angle. I suppose the height of the side makes up for there being no frame under the deck?
I would not go that way, I would only buy something that has an actual frame of tube or channel that has the cross members fully welded into it. you don't need a "3 piece tongue" if the frame of the trailer is a proper channel and not angle.

I have a 7x16 10k gvw, brakes both axles it has been across the country several times hauling near max load with no problems. it is well built with the channel frame going all the back and the channel from the tongue going all the way back to the spring hangers, fully welded, gussets, etc. only thing I changed was the jack, as I hate those top wind ones, i put a 5k side wind square with drop leg about 12 inches further back so that i could use the tailgate with out worrying about the jack handle. paid $1200 for it about 7 or 8 years ago.
(check upgraded features) give them a call on price/shipping. much better built than many that I have seen.

i would not mind if it had a 2 ft dovetail or an 18 ft long deck.

looks like you should be able to get something heavier/better built for about the same money.

I actually like the side ramps on this one, you get sides, ramps and a spot to load and unload at the front with a fork lift:

maybe these guys?

Agreed. A single axel 5x8 with a drop gate is a handy trailer. It’s much better than trying to hand load something heavy on a pickup. I’ve been wanting to build a heavy duty 7x8 tilt trailer to haul my lawnmower on. It’s a little annoying having to take my 22’ tilt to haul a mower.
