How would that work???

As we have been discussing, its not about how much (or little) the trailer weighs. Its about how much its "rated" to weigh.

It could be rated to weigh less and carry the same as it’s steel brother.

Exactly. Same load, but lower gross weight. That is the reason you see some companies running certain sizes of the Ram Promaster. Being rather light for it's capacity, it hits a sweet spot where they can carry one more pallet and still let their non-CDL drivers operate it.
