Be sure your insurance will cover your trailer and do NOT assume it will. This can vary from state to state and way trailer is titled if titled and your policy may limit the amount they will pay for anything stolen. Guns and trailers.
There are different grades of the cable lock systems. Bought the best I could find (was from motorcycle shop) and ran it around trailer frame and through about a 100 pound tractor wheel weight where the wheels would run up on it. Rim designs prevented running cable through them but if a thief planned two tires are not hard to have and change out.
Making your trailer stand out with odd color paint might help. Who wants to steal a pink trailer? Most people would notice it in hurry on the road so should help track it. But talking with local police last week being able to prove it is your's it big problem they run into when they recover. Also said if you will not be able to prove it is yours they do not work the case the same for what good is it to find what you can not prove? I understand.
