After spending the evening at my buddies shop, he had an 04 V10 F350 in for a failed fuel rail and frozen brakes...Had 50K on it. Well maintained truck.
I looked at the motor and he said that the exhaust manifold studs had to be replaced..He refused to do it and doesn't know how they were removed. They rot to toothpick size then just break off..
Can't believe that the fuel rail needs pretty much removed to even think about getting to the plugs.
That being said, has anyone replaced these studs?....I don't want to buy a nightmare and from what has been done, and needs done to the truck I saw last night, it's giving me second thoughts on the '97 V10 MH I'm looking at.
Just curious as to what's involved...I was originally concerned about the spark plug blow out issue, but this one concerns me just as much.
Someone please calm my concerns or change my mind on this RV.
