I guess, I just don't really see how much of a continous draw the pump could actually put on my tractor. I am just considering using it for the power angle function, not lift. It would only need to be "running" for the few seconds where I need to angle the plow in the opposite direction.

In any case, I will look into the extension lines, they would be useful for other attachments besides just the snow plow, so it's probably a better use of the funds.

I haven't really looked too closely, but could the angle rams be removed and the plow converted to manual angle?

Hi,

You don't have to remove the rams, just connect them together with hoses so the flow goes between the cylinders as you manually move the blade. If you don't have manual stops, you can probably rig something up. Keeping in mind if you hit something, something has to give.

Could be converted to manual angle, but that is one feature that I use a lot (emphasize a LOT!) and sure wouldn't want to be without it. Glad those days are long gone by.

The angle feature is used vary the angle of push on the tractor. If the snow is wet and heavy, then it can slide the front end over. But with a slight change in the angle, the forces are altered just enough to keep the front end from sliding. I can imagine if my blade was out on the FEL arms, that effect would be much greater and more frustrating.

As it is, the angle feature allows the blade used to flip snow up over the bank at times.

Give that pump a try. Easy fix if it doesn't work to your liking. And that is going to be what counts the most here.

Agreed, you use the power angle as much as the lift. You could lift with the loader, and pa with the rear remotes on long hoses. Mine works like that, and it's a pain to angle. But, it's simple to hook up and the long lines stay there for the grapple anyway.
Or, with the amount of snow in Jersey your battery would probably make it through with the pump, esp with a trickle charge between outings.

Just completed my plow conversion the other week. Really proud of it as it was some time in the thinking department. While I was thinking my farmer freind did the welding and did the job. Standard 3pt config. put some rubber top and bottom to make it easier on the fancy driveways. Just got the chains in the other day to give her some bling

What kind of Tractor is that? Have you modified the seat to face backwards, or is that the way it is? Very interesting looking machine.

I was wondering if you think an adapter designed such as the one pictured below would be sufficient to mount the frame. The "lift arms" would be adjusted to the width of the A frame and the A frame pins used through the "lift arm" holes. A chain toplink would be used for additional support.

I think you'd want 4 adjustable lift arms otherwise your pins will get all bent up as well as the holes elongated.
I have bent 4 in pins on regular fisher mounting set ups, also you'd want to lock them in place as the plow will end up slideing from side to side when angled. (spacers could accomplish that function)

I was able to find a factory Western conventional truck mount for this plow on ebay for $100 plus local pickup. It included both the upper and lower brackets , yet ANOTHER pump, plus a bumper from an old Dodge pickup. I had to remove it whole from the sellers property to get any of it. I have two ideas;

1) The original plan was to remove the lower bracket and simply have this bracket welded onto the Skid Steer plate. I already have this plate setup for a 3pt to Skid conversion but the western frame mount would fit w/o obstructing the other 3pt function. This would be the easiest solution but would put the plow pretty far out in front of the tractor.

however based on some feedback here...

2) Instead of welding the bracket to the skid plate, I am thinking about have it welded onto the kubota brush guard which mounts to the forward frame my B7800. This would shorten the length of the setup, substantially, and allow me to reuse the bucket curl function for power angle and use a chain to the loader arms for lift.

I also have the upper mount from the plow frame, where the pump and light bar would attach. At present I think I will just toss/sell these, however if I went with plan 2, I could probably figure out a way to use it and not need the loader arms for lift at all, substituting a cylinder for the pump as suggested by another poster. The extra lights on the tractor would be cool too

Man, you got a steal for $125. The pump if working is worth $500 alone. I would sell it. As for mounting the plow unless you are doing snow a bunch I would keep it simple and mount it to the FEL using your quick attach plate and get longer lines made up to run the angle off your remote.

Forget using the pump. Most tractors only have 25-40 amp alternators. To run a snow plow pump effectively you need 200 amps. Here are a few pics of my setup to give you some ideas.

Very nice job on your plow! Yup, I'm NOT going to use the pump. Based on another members post, if I mounted the plow on the tractor frame, I would use some type of hydraulic cylinder to control lift and just steal the lift arm assembly from the pump.

Kinda funny I have 2 perfectly good pumps now and no need for either. When I bought the blade, a pump was thrown in and when I bought the truck mount, a pump was throw in. Here is my collection of not needed parts;
