Another Homebuilt Tractor

I admire the feat of building it. However, when your "ROPS" and roll cage consists of your HEAD, added to when operating it in WATER, the chances of catastrophic injury/death seems pretty high to me.

I'd like to have one, but I wouldn't think of building/operating it without more protection.

These things just amaze me with all the time, energy, craftsmanship, and least of all money that gets spent on them, and my hat goes off to the builders they have some real accomplishments!!! But has anyone built something that does something usefull, like run a mower or something purposeful?

Had the same sort of "buggie" when I was a very young kid. Consisted of removing the body from an early volkswagen beetle, with a 50hp engine. Had the same fun, but not the expense or had to reengineer much of it. Mounted a steering wheel post. Agreed, very dangerous, but it was a blast to drive. Went tearing through water, as he does. Got soaking wet, didn't care. Hard to understand the 4, twin cylinder briggs and stratton engines, unless he "got" them for free. Coupling them together, and arranging the throttles had to be some work. The trans looked like it was failing towards the end of the show. 4, 18hp B&S engines, equals 72hp. Would have been a better show if he would have documented the build, and then had a short at the end of him enjoying it. The kid definetly has some talent, more so than many who just play video games.....:)

Not sure why it's called a tractor. Looks like a large go-cart with tractor-type wheels. Still, loos like a fun way to plow your lawn (or at least dig it up a great deal)

Notice the slow-moving-vehicle sign on the back?

I was amazed that it did not have more power.
