But Soletrac just got evicted from their business propert for non-payment of rent. All the equipment left will sold at auction to cover back rent of $65K

Dang. Should've known that somebody tried (had to look Soletrac up).

Guess they're selling so well that nobody there had time to pay the rent.

It is funny, and this according to our EPA:

"A typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of CO2 per year.
This assumes the average gasoline vehicle on the road today has a fuel economy of about 22.2 miles per gallon and drives around 11,500 miles per year. Every gallon of gasoline burned creates about 8,887 grams of CO2.

8887 grams =19.592 pounds
A gallon of gasoline weighs 6 pounds.

Therefore the average car defies physics! If you burn 6 pounds of gasoline you get over three times weight of CO2!

Incorrect.

Also from the EPA:

How can burning one gallon of gasoline produce 8,887 grams (approximately 20 pounds) of tailpipe carbon, when one gallon of gasoline weighs only about six pounds?

Most of the weight of the CO2 doesn't come from the gasoline itself, but the oxygen in the air. When gasoline burns, the carbon and hydrogen separate. The hydrogen combines with oxygen to form water (H2O), and carbon combines with oxygen to form carbon dioxide (CO2).

Fisker just called me today about my new ev! The 2023 Fisker Ocean Extreme.

“Incorrect”…..like that really matters.

I love it. Like anyone can’t copy & paste a refuting argument to any point of view from the internet.

”No joke”

If we stopped posting about EVs, traffic on this site might take a 50% hit.

Ignore lists would be 75% less.

Agree.
I have noticed a precipitous drop in tractor purchases in the last few years.

5+ years ago there was a new tractor purchase every day.

Now it seems like a weekly thing and many of them are used tractors.

Ummm, maybe defying Physics, but not defying Chemistry.

Consider one's favorite gasoline molecule, OCTANE.

C8H18

Now completely burn one molecule of Octane.

C8H18 + (12.5)O2 --> 8CO2 + 9 H2O

Ok, so ignoring the H2O produced.

The molecular weight of C8H18 is about: 8x12 (Carbon) + 18x1 (Hydrogen) = 114
The molecular weight of 8 CO2 molecules is about 8x12 (carbon) + 16x16 (oxygen) = 96 + 256 = 352

So, 352/114 = 3.09

So, yes, about 3:1 carbon dioxide weight vs octane weight.

There are other molecules in gasoline from Benzine, Toluene, and many others. But, it all ends up about the same.

Yes. The average person’s confusion that is enjoyed by combustion haters, is caused by intentionally wording the “pollution” mass, as “emitted “ by the tailpipe. This gives rise to confusion by leading people to believe the engine “produced “ 3x the mass than that of the gasoline, where in fact, the extra mass of the oxygen 02, is already in the air…it’s draw in the air cleaner and sent back out the tailpipe. The actual mass added to the air is the mass of the gasoline.

But anyway , the 2 oxygen atoms bonded to the carbon atom are the circle of life. It literally greens the planet. Do you prefer a cold icy planet?

Typical tree wood:
C6H12O6
CO2 has been used to make wood with 6 carbon atoms.

Ripping up the earth to make millions of heavy battery cars, in the vain attempt to keep 0.04% CO2 from getting to 0.044%, is not going to improve your weather. Sorry

The globe has been on a warming trend ever since the last ICE age, the sun tends to do that. The man made C02 factor ( it doesn't lead warming it actual follows) is a diversion that is used by Governments around the world to have that Gov in power be the hero that saves it's citizens from that boogeyman. They go so far as redefining words like calling the building block of vegetation ( CO2) pollution. It is typical of mankind to think they can control the sun, whereas we would be wiser to just adapt.
