Yea, the car rental place there is pretty amazing. I can see it easily overwheming someone that doesn't travel much. The volume and turn over is simply staggering. I always book everything way in advance electronically and the pickup/turn in process is crazy efficient. You spend more time walking to/from the vehicle than anything else ... and riding that monorail.
It really is if you factor in your fist time to the States and probably transferring planes on the way in...
A little kindness shown to the kids of friends over there is easily repaid in spades.
Mostly it is just getting them off to a good start... some AAA maps and a cooler with snacks... a day around the city or Big Basin/Coast and then they hit the road with me as a contact should trouble come up.
Still remember one group that stayed in Durango Arizona and took pictures of open carry locals... they simply couldn't believe it was real.
Guns, Ammo is super regulated over there...
My Uncle was a self taught gunsmith that was training for the Olympics where you ski, shoot etc before he died in the line of duty... he had all the equipment and supplies that was mostly given away... I still have some of his 30-06 reloads and never a bad one and some are 60 years old.
