That's outstanding, I'd like to see that, probably due to the lack of volunteers a pumpkin might work and serve the same purpose since it's now pumpkin season......

We use high density foam torso targets. The one I use is an 'Undead Fred", zombie huminoid torso target. head , shoulders, torso down to waistline / vital areas. Semi featured so you can figure out where you are hitting ( you can see simulated bone, facial features, etc )

Many many eyeball and frontal cheek shots. 40 yds is easy. with a scoped crossbow.

My favorite scope is the Weaver 1-4x20 on my Mini-14. I leave it on 1x specifically because it makes sighting with both eyes open so natural. It's kind of like open sights except I can actually see them AND the target clearly.

I found a rifle I forgot I had a Henry 22 with the octagon barrel it shoots good and hold 16 rounds.

My son has the original 1860 Henry replica in 45 colt, that shoots good, very accurate. IMO, the Civil War would of only lasted one year if Abram Lincoln insisted on the purchase of these rifles instead of the one shot death sentence, but back then solders was alot cheaper.

Seems availability of 22 LR is coming back almost to the pre December 2012 levels, at least from all the email ads I've been getting lately. Just in the past two days, I've gotten notices that CCI and Federal 22 LR is available for sale, just that prices per round have increased somewhat.
Still nothing has been available at our local WalMart for some time now, but other WalMarts up by the "big cities" usually have some in stock. I recently bought a lot of Federal AMT-22 for just a bit less than .06 per round.
I placed an order for a pretty goodly amount of CCI Mini Mag at .08 per round and just got notification that it's been shipped.

About the only really good deals I've seen on .223 has been the steel jacketed stuff, but for reloaders, primers, powders and bullets seem to be readily available and at good prices.

I have to admit, I finally saw some 22LR at our local Wally World, CCI standard velocity, and Federal hollow points for 9.75 and 8.00 per 50 rounds respectively.

No, I didn't buy any, because I wouldn't pay that much for it.

But still, it was a milestone because it was the first time in 4 years that I have seen ANY there.

Found this partial box in my workshop over the weekend. Wow! 2 pennies per round. Judging from the sticker, the price, and where I was back then I would bet they were from Meijer in Michigan. They have to be more than 24 years old.ImageUploadedByTractorByNet1477305210.438228.jpg

Not sure if you guys have a Cabela's around you, but I walked out of my local one with 5,000 rds. of Federal 22LR with no problem. No limit. No hassle. Just heavy!
They always have them too. Regular prices are just okay, but sale prices are blowout prices sometimes on certain calibers. 9mm was cheaper for Blazer than what I could buy in bulk anywhere not too long ago. Let's just say that I have more 9mm than I know what to do with now. Always good to stock up. Another 1000/rd case of 5.56 just found its way here Saturday. Loaded up 800 of them onto stripper clips yesterday.

Should cost under $2.00 for a box now.
