Amazon rant...

lets get back to my Amazon rant before the thread gets shut down please. I realize everyone is edgy but lets chill a bit, shall we?

If anyone needs to chill, it's me. I keep getting 6 months to live and that was seven years ago. I'm either the Eveready Bunny or I'm extremely lucky or maybe a bit of both. Who knows really and I surely don't.

Thursday is my day of reckoning with Amazon. The rest of my order is supposed to show up on Thursday. I wonder if anything will show up actually or if the stuff will be delivered to someone else instead? Crapshoot at best I'd say.

I will say that Amazon promptly refunded my money today for the item I was supposed to get but had an empty shipping envelope delivered instead with the top torn off. I hope someone enjoyed the contents as it was Doctor Teals bath and body wash for my lovely wife. I really despise thieves. Hopefully the Amazon delivery driver smells better.
It’s TBN and the never ending quest for information exchange through the digital public square…

I want fair and unbiased reporting and not opinions that I can form on my own. That don't happen today at all, so I 'tune them out' now.
if it's an AP wire story, I really don't read it as I consider AP to be way left.
"Unbiased"=their slant is the same as mine. :ROFLMAO:

This routing is difficult to understand. We live 40 miles northeast of Oklahoma city. Here is the tracking info from an order placed on Amazon last Thursday November 24th. Notice it starts in Oklahoma City:

It went over 800 miles away:

Do not know where it is now or where it is headed. "On Its Way to USPS
Departed Shipping Partner Facility, USPS Awaiting Item
HEBRON, KY 41048"

Tracking is not showing a delivery date.
Update on the long way around Amazon Phone Case shipment. Here is the tracking info from this morning:

The bad news is, it does not fit the phone. It is too small.
So I will have to send it back.

Opinions were confined to the editorial page and labeled as such…
Funny how the changing culture accepts these opinions as being true, mainly because they are on the front page or on the nightly news. Repeat it enough and it appears to be true even when its not.

So you are saying we really do not have a shipping issue?

Everybody needs to realize that what you see in the news is nothing more than a heads-up that an issue exists.

It's up to you to go to the cited source, and whatever else is available, before you understand the issue that this 'news' reported. And if the report you read, was biased. Is this intellectual and left-leaning, in contrast to accepting someone telling you 'just trust me, everyone knows we're honest'?

An example this morning: The wire services are reporting the trapped tunnel miners in India were brought out on stretchers. While first hand reports in Indian-sourced news say they proudly crawled out the 3 ft rescue pipe without assistance, unharmed. One of those versions has to be made-up, 'trust me', apparently written in ignorance of the 'facts' described.

Obviously the metric that is being applied by Amazon is the quantity of delivered packages. Not caring if it is the right address. We have neighbors that have brought items delivered to them, but addressed to us.
UPS uses delivered to the correct address as the #1 priority, and being delivered on time as thier #1 priority. Thats the way my cousin who retired from UPS explained it.
Being delivered to the correct address and delivered on time both as important.

Amazon deliveries prioritized over regular mail in some rural areas. Much finger pointing. Excerpt, in case it's paywalled:

"But it wasn’t the buck hunt delaying the mail in Bemidji, a tiny town 100 miles south of the Canadian border where welcome signs are written in both English and Ojibwe and statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox tower in downtown. Since early November, Bemidji has been bombarded by a sudden onslaught of Amazon packages — and local postal workers say they have been ordered to deliver those packages first."

Fed Ex operates the same as UPS does but with independent contractors who own multiple trucks and employ drivers instead of like UPS where the drivers are employees of the company. Again, I know as one of my good friends manages a 60 truck fleet contracted to Fed-Ex.

Addtionally, Fed-Ex contract drivers aren't union.
