Aluminum Stick welding

It's not a one for one match, but it is similar to brazing with a really hot flame. I'm no expert here with aluminum welding rods, but as with brazing, rod manipulation is the key to making a good looking weld.

I need the rods to be about half again as long. By the time my mind gets in gear the rod is already burned up.:laughing:

If you can possibly swing it, get which ever brand you can afford with adjustable arc force, and hot start. Those two options make life so much easier on a new guy starting out. Maybe if you're lucky you can catch Longevity's first of the month sale and get a Stickweld 250.:thumbsup:

40% off would really help. Unfortunately, according to the rules for it last month, you need to be a TBN member for at least 3 months to be eligible. Can't wait that long! :laughing:

The Stickweld 250 is pretty nice unit. But even with 40% off, it would be a stretch for me to afford. My budget is more like the Stickweld 140.

As far as the Everlast units go, we have our PowerArc 300 available with adjustable arc force control, and hot start. It'll give plenty of amp adjustabilty. We give everyday discounts to TBN members.

Unfortunately, the PowerArc 300 is definitely priced out of my budget. I've been looking at the 140st but the 160sth keeps luring me in. Will really depend on my finances but I'm going to have to buy soon. Watching from the sidelines is OK but I wanna play ball!
