Altoz Track Mower

Does anyone here own one. I am looking to find a solution to mow on slopes and wet areas. I am gonna be in the market for a new zero turn anyway and this may kill two birds with one stone. Videos I have seen look promising but I would like to hear from someone who uses them. Any info on them would be appreciated.

I have no experience with the track mower, but I will say that Ventrac machines for slope mowing were at the top of my list when I was considering a machine.
I ended up putting aggressive loaded tires on my backup zero turn for the few banks that I mow.

I currently own Steiner which is pretty much identical to ventrac. It has been an absolute disaster of a machine to own. They really are great on hills and in wet areas but mine has been the most undependable machine I have ever owned. I plan on getting a traditional tractor for bushhogging and I am hoping the Altoz will work on most of my slopes.

This is what I use on my sloped and hilly property and… I highly, highly recommend it! It’s a Cub Cadet Pro Z 560 S KW with 4 wheel steering. This machine is excellent and extremely safe on my hillsides. Fantastic mower!

I too shopped the Altoz and unfortunately, I didn’t have a dealer anywhere near me and the dealers I did call either didn’t have any product or were dropping the brand, not a good sign. I began looking at alternatives and that’s when I found the steering wheel equipped Cub Cadet Pro line.

My Pro Z 560 S KW is the smallest of the professional line. The make a 760 and 960/972 model (which has dual wheels). Though, they start getting pricey.

I don't have any direct knowledge. But, around where I live there is a group that uses at least one of these to mow the divided highway shoulders and median. They have used it for at least 2 years so it must work well.

I have an old Bunton BZT1000 that is similar in build to a Walker mower but without the grass collection system. It has a deck out front with caster wheels, 2 drive wheels, and a large caster wheel in the back. The longer wheelbase and lower center of gravity (engine is mounted lower to ground than most z turns) make it a very stable mower. You may want to check out front mount z turns such as Grasshopper or Walker. Toro also makes front mount mowers. These are different from the large front deck Kubota or JD commercial mowers.
