I was pushing on a stump near my pole barn and I had all 4 wheels slowly spinning but the stump wasn't giving. I didn't realize it, but as I spun the tractor was sliding over (about 1 foot). So I put it in reverve and started backing up to get another bite at the stump. I started hearing this strange noise and I wasn't actually making any progress going back (although it's hard to tell sometimes when in low gear) and looked around and I was about to push one of the corner poles out from under the pole barn. I had pushed it about 3-4 inches over. I went back and pushed it the other way to strighten it back out. I was about to have roof coming down on my head:(

Sounds like a good enough excuse for me to go and get a back/hoe!!

There are times, when I'm working in tight places, I'll be whipping my head back and forth trying to make sure I don't do just that!!

With the backhoe on it'd be too easy to dent, bend, rip, push over, uproot, injure, mar, or otherwise harm whatevers in back of me, and or what's in front when I get going on a stubborn rock or stump, pulling logs etc...have to live with the whiplash for now..:D

I'm not sure I understand how the tractor shifted sideways without you noticing it.

My machine, once those rear tires start slipping, can move sideways...that I understand.
But, how could you miss that movement?

Actually, I did realize I slipped a bit sideways, but being in the zone I just forgot what was behind me. Jeez man, I got 2 hours or so on a tractor, cut me some slack:rolleyes: Like you never bumped into nothing, right:p

Just wait till you get more hours on. Then think of the damage you can do!:D :D :D

Hey Curly! I've only got about 10 hours on a tractor, so not that far ahead of you. However, I have become a pro and never make mistakes :D :D :D

I can completely understand myself doing something similar.
