Allis-Chalmers 74 planters

I have a set of 74 series planters that I purchased used in very good condition. I have been using them in conventional tillage. This year I'd like to try no till to save some fuel if possible. What are some concerns that I should be considering if I plan on using these planters. They are just the standard planters with no row cleaners and none of the other attachments that newer planters have. Any suggestions?
