Air seat in NX cab?

Plan A. I tried to shoehorn in a Sears KM1003 (the same seat is used in a pile of Case and Deere and other tractor applications) into my cab-on NX series tractor. Having measured everything, I estimated that I could use the 5" travel air suspension, and if needed for clearance, remove the uber-comfortable Sears seat and recycle the stock seat and bolt it to the Sears air suspension. To make the Sears suspension work, I chose to make standoffs that would fit the premade holes on the bottom of the Sears air suspension in case I had to scrap the project and return the seat and weld new nutplates unto the the tractor's floor pan. On the NX, the floorpan has a 7 degree forward-facing slope, with the front standoffs being a little taller than the rear standoffs. While I made my standoffs as short as possible, with the Sears seat installed in the cab and the air suspension fully collapsed, I only had about 3.5" above my head and would not work due to the substantally thicker seat cushion on the Sears seat.

Plan B. Sadly, the OEM seat isn't a standard one-piece seat with a 11-1/4 x 12 bolt pattern. The OEM seat pan is hinged for the seat's safety switch, and what would be the seat pan is the top of the mechanical suspension. Without extensive cutting and welding to Sears seat, there was no way to use the stock seat or marry the stock seat to a different seat suspension system. As a result, I sent the Sears seat back in total defeat.

Anybody find a suitable airseat and install it in their NX series cab tractor?

No, but I am with you. My butt needs a break. I spend a couple hundred hours a winter in mine mostly traveling down city side streets at higher speeds moving from account to account. The ride is a killer. Would LOVE an air suspension solution.

I’m interested, too.

My CK4010 SE seat bottoms at any crack in the pavement while transporting the mile between the shop and house.

Tires filled with incompressible fluid don’t help.

I’m either going to replace the tractor with something that has an adequate suspension seat, or lose 75 pounds.

Don’t bet on the weight loss, though. Been working on that for years.

The poor seat is my only complaint about the tractor.
