Air Filter Bracket Problem

Went out to use my BX22 yesterday, started the tractor to a very loud rattle like metal striking metal under the hood. Shut it down and opened the hood. Found that the top bracket holding the air filter in place had snapped where the top bracket meets the bottom portion of the bracket. A tie wrap got me back in business for the day, will have to price the part or decide to stay with the tie wrap. Guessing that the bolt bringing the two parts together was too tight and snapped in the cold weather last time I used the tractor.

Just wondering if anyone else ever had this part break, will call the dealer to get an estimate tomorrow.

Good point. If it was too tight, it would have been the dealer that did it as they did the 50 hour service. Will mention that when I call!

I have a bx22 with about 140 hours, and mine broke at about 90 hours.

I repaired it myself, using a work clamp. Drilled a hole in the lower bracket so the work clamp would fit thru it, threaded the clamp thru and tightend it up.

I believe i have read oter threads on here reporting the bracket breaking.

I believe there is a memo to all dealers to replace this part at no charge to the owner. Check with your dealer this should be a freebe /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Many TBN owners have had this problem.

Mine broke on my BX22 after a few short hours of use. There is a heavy duty bracket kit available to replace the strap . My dealer sent me one, no cost. The part number listed on the instruction sheet for the kit was K2561-98211. If you do a search for Air Cleaner Strap on BX, I posted the complete list of the kit's components in that thread. Thanks to all for the replies. Went to dealer today, I already have the new, improved, heavy duty version and this is what broke. They didn't have one in stock but they are getting me one at no charge. Did see the strap version and no surprise it broke but not sure the "improved" version has solved the problem. Good news is a new one is on the way.

I replaced mine last fall. Big difference in the quality of the replacement part.

I can't believe they even put that cheapie on the machine after I looked at the new one.

I wonder how much the dealer charged Kubota for me replacing it myself though.

The concern I have is that the one that broke on my BX22 is the new, heavy duty version. Going to check tomorrow to see if the dealer found me a new one.

I too have the same problem.But my selling dealer has been sold and the new owners closed the doors on that location.I spoke to the service man at the new dealership and he spoke to the warranty guy.They both said they do not know enough about Kubota, or any issuses to even comment on replacing my broken part.He suggested to buy the part and then look into the warranty coverage, and or bring the tractor in for them to look at and decide.
This new dealer is very well known in the area, but has no experience selling or servicing Kubotas.
Does anyone have a document from Kubota that shows this is covered under warranty?
Should I contact Kubota?

I don't know the procedure for getting a warranty replacement from Kubota but I did receive my new bracket under warranty from the dealer. The replaced the strap portion which is where the break happened. They had all my purchase details and the only other question they asked was how many hours on the BX22 as they said they would need that when they filed their warranty claim. Sounds like you're getting a run around to me?
