Was given 35 acres of land to hay. Previous bunch compacted the topsoil, never fertilized, or aerated. Yields were poor. Bunch grasses were sparse and wire grasses taking over.
I decided to try to break up the upper 6-8” with an aerator. Next will be a layer of compost. Seed drill late summer.
