I own a L 295 and have already swopped over the rear wheels to get the maximum width for safety reasons, gaining an extra few important inches.

Does anyone know if there is a way to widen the front wheels to get the maximum width there as well .At the momnt they sit with the outside of the tyre in line with the inside of the rear weel tyre.

I assume that is a 4WD. My Kubota only has two adjustments for the front wheels and you turn the tires around backwards to go from a treadwidth of 55.9 to 59.8 in. You gain 4 inches. The 2WD units have more adjustment and you "simply" slide the axle out and re-do the steering link.
