Adjusting Trottle on JD 3203

Hello, need help on getting the cover off around the trottle lever to tighten it so it does not slip and hold in gear...We have taken it in to john deere 2 years in a row to have it serviced and particulally for this to be fixed and I only have a small horse farm where I move manure out to aback pasture ever week or so for 5 horses...I drag the arena and this keeps comming loose...I end up putting a piece of wood under it in the slot to keep the speed where I need it..I know I should have bought the tractor that had a clutch...LOL
Help with this would be appreciated. I need the tractor, but last time I took it in for service it was at least 2 weeks just for a service and to fix this...I can't this time of year let it go for that length of time...

Your post should be in the regular JD forum, not the AG tractor forum...

Take a look at the pictures below from JDParts, they should help I hope. In the first picture, the main pivot bolt (#3 and #9) need to be adjusted. If it won't hold the adjustment than the friction washer's (#5) may need to be replaced.
