Welding teeth on can work for light use, but it can add stress to a smooth dirt bucket since it wasn’t designed for that kind of load. If you’ll be digging in rocky or tough material often, a bucket built with teeth (or a rock bucket with grapple) is the better long-term option.

Thanks for all the replies. Jenkins sells one with 3/4" bottom teeth. Where I work we have a JD100 backhoe with a grapple and some of the 1/2" teeth are bent. My property is really rocky and so I have concerns about the teeth bending as well. Also I am not sure if trying to dig with a front end loader may not be wise. I dont want to destroy the loader in the process of digging.
At present I have my tractor for sale as I fear I have bought the wrong machine. I originally wanted a skidsteer, however they were like 20k more expensive. I only have 60 hours on this machine after 2 years so I plan on selling and I dont want to do any damage to it before selling. It been in a heated garage for some time just barely used. I did use it for building a garage for lifting 2X6 walls with my Jenkins Teleboom, great attachment.
Anyway I am rambling Regards, Joe
