2004 Kubota M4800
I have an M4800 kubota. It has one factory remote. I just added a HTL and would like to add a Hydraulic Side Link. Kubota wants about $600.00 each for remotes.

I'm thinking of using Surplus Center parts and constructing my own.

I would like to tie into the Power Beyond port on my loader valve. http://www.bushhog.com/ContentFiles/Documents/Manuals/Loaders-M346-M446-M546-M646.pdf (page 37) shows my loader valve.

Would I just unhook the return line going to the rear end housing and run a short line to 2 spool valve like this one: https://www.surpluscenter.com/cart.asp?UID=2468022612245058&catname=hydraulic . And then reattach the return line going to the rear end housing to the outlet port of the valve. Or would I hook to the power beyond port of the valve. I'm confused :confused2: .

Basically I want to do like Rob did with Loretta's tractor http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/rliefveld/Jinma Package/Finish Mods and WORK/2Medium.jpg . http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i106/rliefveld/Jinma Package/Finish Mods and WORK/2Medium.jpg

Are these the correct valves to add two remotes??? Is Hydraulic in on one end and out on the other????

3RRL, where are you????

The hose from the FEL PB port goes to the new/next valve IN/pressure port. The PB from the second valve goes to the rear/3pt. The return or out from each valve should go to tank.

OK, that's as clear as mud.

JJ,

I posted a picture of the valve on my loader. Does that mean I unhook the hose from the valve on the side and then run a line to the inlet of the new Prince valves. Then hook up the return line that came off the loader valve (at the power beyond port) to the power beyond port on the new valves???? Since these will be the last valves in line. Would the power beyond on the new valves and return lines both have to be hooked into the resevoir??? I don't think my loader valve is plumbed like this now.

As you can see, I don't fully understand tractor hydraulics. Even though I can rebuild a Holly Carb or internal combustion engine with my eyes shut  .

Yes, that is correct.

>FEL PB port to the IN on the new valve
>PB port on new valve to where the lines you removed was feeding (99% of the time that is the 3PH valve)
>OUT of the new valve to the tank-this can be Tee'd with the OUT line from the FEL valve.

The valve you linked to will work perfectly, But I personally like this Joystick valve to control TnT cylinders.

Yes, what I said, and what Kenny said. The last circuit in line will be the 3pt. The first valve up stream will take all or some of the fluid, and any valve downstream can operate, but at reduced capability. If you have a 10 GPM pump, and the first valve is using 5 GPM, the remaining valves can use the other 5 GPM.

I agree with these veterans, same way I did mine, AND prefer the joystick to individual valves.

Kenny,

My loader valve only has two hoses at this time. The pressure line comes in from the rear end housing, just above the drawbar. The return line comes out the power beyond plug on the side of the valve and runs back to the side of the transmission housing to run the 3pt hitch.

There is not a third line coming off the loader valve (return) like I highlighted in red in your quote.

Rob,

Got your PM thanks for the help.

JJ,

Thanks to you also.

HMMMM...

I don't understand how the PB port is used and there is no Tank or OUT line:confused2:

Can you identify any markings on the ports?

I don't understand how the pressure is coming from rearend and the pump is up front. I thought pressure goes to readend to feed 3pt and remote valves.

On page 37, and 44 of the PDF, it shows the PB port. There are seven ports. If your tractor is closed center, you don't need the PB port. If it is open center, install the PB sleeve, and connect the other valves as directed. Tie all the returns together. Apparently the rear remotes gets the pressure first, and feeds the loader valve. They talk about back pressure through the loader valve presure return line. If you remove the loader, lines A and B must be connected to complete the circuit.

Line B will feel the full 2850 psi pressure when any other valve is operated, and the return port on that valve must be able to handle the pressure. I believe that most valves can not handle a back pressure of 2850 psi.

If the loader valve is attached to the rear remote, the PB is not used.

The hyd supply is at the back of the tractor according the PDF.

OK guys. I'm retarded!!! I looked at the loader valve again today. There are 3 lines. 2 on the top and the PB port on the side. The pressure line comes in from the side of the transmission. The power beyond port goes to the side of the transmission. The third line (return) goes into the rear end housing just above the drawbar. I'll have to put a T where the return goes into the rear end housing. I took pictures, but they on my daughters camera and she is in the bed. I don't know where her camera is.

Now I get to order the valves and lines.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Guess I need to get my eyes checked. :confused2:

Good! You had me worried!

You might want to look on ebay this guy has 2, one he doesn't know what it fits and the other is for the M8200. The valve themself could be the same.
The good part is the price is starting at $6.95, buy both sell the other.

Leejohn,

Thanks for the reply. They won't work. For a much larger tractor. I checked the part numbers on the installation manual he has posted vrs. the Kubota numbers my dealer gave me.

BTW: The dealer told me 2nd set of remotes is just $730.00. He's licking his chops thinking I'm going to buy one :licking: .

Kennyd, JJ, and Rob,

Here are some pics. I think I have it figured out now.

Pic. #1, 2, 3, are of my CCM HTL. If you look at picure #2 you can just see the 90 on the left side of the picture where the return goes into the rear end housing. #4 is the Power beyond port on the loader valve, and #5 is the top of the loader valve.

Looking at picture # 5 the supply line is on the far right and the return is on the far left.

Sorry the pictures are so dark. They were taken with my daughters digital camera and I couldn't figure out how to get the flash to work.

Thanks for all the help!!!

Chris

Looks good Chris! Glad you got it figured out:thumbsup:

Just one note though...You can loosen the compression fittings on each side of that DPOCV (the box mounted on the cylinder) and turn it so the ports are facing the right side of the tractor.

Kennyd,

I know. I loosened them and turned it to the left. That way I wouldn't have a big loop in the way on the right side. I moved the 3pt through all ranges of motion with the bushhog on and didn't have any problems with the hoses kinking. I may try it that way to see if I like it better. Right now I have the hoses tie wrapped to the cylinder.

Thanks for the suggesetion.

Thanks Rob. That means a lot coming from you. Now to get the HSL and the remotes installed.

Chris.
