If all you have now is the pump then steering, and then 3pt, The steering is using some or all of the flow and then passing the fluid downstream for the 3pt.
The adapter plate for the FEL or remotes is probably the best way to go if you can get it.
I am not sure if the steering uses the 2500 psi that the pump can develop, but it probably has a relief for the excess pressure.
When the steering is not being used, the full potential may be used downstream.
To guarantee the steering has priority, there is a valve called a divider valve that will separate the flow and always provide a certain amount of fluid to the steering.
If for instance you have a 7 GPM divider valve with a 5 to 2 ratio with 2 GPM always going to the steering, and the 5 GPM going downstream for all other implement functions, like FEL, remote valve, 3pt.
That 5 GPM is enough to operate the other functions.
As you might know, more GPM's equals more speed.
If you can get a larger pump, you can provide more GPM's.
