I want to add auxiliary hydraulics to my MF 1433v. My local MF dealer went out of business, so the nearest dealer is now in another state. (Obviously I should have gotten them when I bought the tractor, but i didn't, so...)

Does anyone know how complex a job it would be for me to purchase the auxiliary hydraulics kit and add it myself? I have reasonably good mechanical skills, but have never worked on hydraulics.

Also, what are the practical advantages of single spool vs. double spool systems?

I installed dual remotes on my 1533. It's pretty easy but also pretty involved. On mine, once you remove the right rear wheel, inner fender shield, and seat, all of the new pieces bolt right in. It took me about 2 hours or so altogether. I don't know how different the 1433 is from the 1533, so your results may vary!

Dan, I'm wanting to add the same thing, by chance what did the kit cost.

Dont know if you will want to do this or not, but if you have a loader on your tractor you can do this. On my 1533 I added a set of remotes on the back by getting the bracket and a remote kit at the tractor dealer ( any tractor dealer should have this or tractor farm supply ) and then got 2 hyd hoses made the proper length at the parts store and got 2 quick couplers ( same as the loader hoses ) and ran them up to the joystick valve and when I want to use the set of remotes on the back I just disconnect the tilt hoses on the loader and plug in my new hoses for the back and use the factory joystick to control my new set of remotes. Probably cost me 60 bucks. Not facory but it works well. I pull a Kuhn hayrake with mine and it requires Hyd's.

I was just quoted $1700 for the 2 spool kit by a dealer a hundred miles away. Found same kit online for about $1530. either way seems kinda pricey.

swill,
Do you have a loader on your 1433? If you do it is a lot easier and less expense to add remotes.

Unfortunately I don't have a loader. I think the loader comes with its' own hydraulics, but I don't know how they tie in. Do you know if they connect to the same place as the auxiliary hydraulics? (If I plan to get a loader some day, would I be ending up with an "extra" set of hydraulics if I put the auxiliaries in now?) Like I said, I'm not too familiar with hydraulics.

Thanks

Jerry: To clarify the extent of my ignorance and thus the degree of my confusion, I don't know what a "full set" of hydraulics on my tractor would include.

If, for instance, I had purchased my tractor with a loader and a backhoe and wanted to run an hydaulic top link and hydraulic side link for 3 point implements, how would my hydaulic system be '"wired"? Would the backhoe have a separate system from the auxiliary hydraulics? Would it be separate from the loader? Or would they all be tied in to a common valve kit to supply the hydraulic pressure?

Seems like if they are all separate systems, then I don't loose much by doing the auxiliaries first, but if they would all have common parts, I might be better off buying one of the other attachments first.

Thanks

I got the kit from the dealer when I bought the tractor new this past August. It was $800 then.

Dan: Who is your dealer in CT, and do you know what the part number was for your kit? Was it a MF kit or some other after market kit. Price you paid was certainly a lot better than I am being told and maybe I should contact your dealer.

Thanks

I have a loader on my 1433. If someone could give me a part number for the kit and where to buy it I would appreciate it. My dealer quoted me $1,600 and I know there has to be another way or the kit is cheaper somewhere.

thanks

The MF kit # is 3708450M93 for the 1433v, but the best price I've found is $1523.33 from Jack's small engines (Jacks Small Engines). I've sent emails to several sites trying to find an after market kit cuz this seems like too much to me too.

I'm hoping Dan in CT or JerryG may have some suggestions for us.

Swill,
The part numbers I have are 72530322 - Aux. Valve Kit, and 7541504 - Coupler Kit (Female). Again, these are for a 1533, so a 1433 may be different. My dealer is Goff's Equipment, Torrington, CT. (I think Tim Goff is a member here.) They've been great to work with, no complaints at all!! :D

I'm not sure if the price I got is because I got them when I bought the tractor, but seeing the prices you got makes me glad I got them when I did!
