I have a large mowing job to bid on. pasture mowing no rough stuff with a 5 ft. rotary mower would be a good estimate on acreage per hour thanks

Depends on several things. How tall is the grass? This is going to factor into your ground speed. What size hp machine are we talking (PTO and not engine)? What kind of obstacles do you have to deal with? usually an 80% efficiency is pretty safe.

A rule of thumb I was taught years ago that's fairly accurate is width of cut X MPH divided by 10 = what can be covered in 1 hour.

I mow 3 acres (not pasture) of 3-6 inch turf in two hours with a B2620 and 5 ft MMM at mid-range speed, 2800 rpm, obstacles and all. Then it takes 30 minutes to clean up the mower and tractor and park it in the shade....covered with a tarp. Of course I spent 10 minutes deciding what hat to wear before I started.

I thin Oldballs is about right. 1.5 acres per hour for most stuff. 1 acre per hour if it's rough or requires a lot of trimming.

I mow my 6-acre hayfield (12-18" tall weeds) with my 55 hp Mahindra 5525 and a 6-ft Hawkline brush hog in 3 hours. The field is flat so I can amp up the ground speed.

A few years ago I mowed my neighbor's field (about the same size) when he was recovering from surgery. It took about 4.5 hours since I was unfamiliar with the field and kept the ground speed down. Even then I hit an irrigation ditch hidden in the weeds pretty hard--luckily no front end damage. That's the main problem mowing an unfamiliar field--hidden obstacles that can wreck your front axle.

So my guess is about 1 acre/hour in your case.
