Acetylene regulator won't budge

Hi. I am trying to remove the regulator from my empty acetylene tank and I can't get it to budge. I've done it before with no problems. I can't remember for sure which way to turn, don't want to damage anything. Any suggestions?

To remove acetylene regulator turn it left to right , it's just the opposite of oxygen again to loosen it turn it as if you were tightening a regular bolt.

The industry has reverse threads on the regulators to tank so some numb nuts can't by pass the regulator and connect the hoses directly to the tank with common plumbing pipe. The threads are unusual also.

All flammable gas tanks have left hand threads to prevent the wrong regulator being used.

So left to right, clockwise? I guess you answered that by saying loosen as if tightening a regular bolt. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the help!
