Sorry, I should have posted the model number of my helmet, it is XK-LY800H-BLACK1. So those parts will not work on my helmet.

Thanks,
Richard
Funny.... The new set of model number does not match what you posted in post #1..... Do you really know what you have....

Yeah, I know. The photo I posted is cut and paste from their website. I did not have a photo of my helmet at the time.

Finally some photos of my helmet.
This is the overall view:

Here is a photo of the flexible, convex plastic cover in front of the solid, replaceable lens shield.

Today, I sent off an e-mail to Arccaptian and ask about these plastic piece.

No, the replacement lens protectors are solid, and flat. This is my first auto-darkening helmet. I am just a hobby welder, I use it for miscellaneous jobs when I want two pieces of metal to stick together.
Right now I am fabricating a new front suspension for my Hart, battery powered rider mower. The current front suspension is fixed, similar to what is found on the lower priced Zero-Turns.
I want to put on a pivoting front axle so that it will, hopefully, ride a bit smoother.

Richard
Post some pics when you are done. Sounds like an interesting and worthwhile project.

It's a work in progress. Here in MN land, we have some cold weather for the next few days. So work has come to a stop, no heated garage. I do have some photos of the work I have done.

My pivoting front beam with 3/4" Id pivot tube.

This washer will be welded on to the bean and the pivot tube to re-enforce the beam. The bean is 1X2.5"

I don't have a photo of the part that gets bolted to the existing front rectangle tube. It will be bolted on using the two bolts that are now hold in place the brush bar.

Got some information back from Arccaptain sales:
Dear Richard,
Thank you for your patience over the weekend while awaiting our response.
We appreciate your detailed questions - here are the answers for you:

  1. The flexible plastic part is the outer protective lens, which should not be removed. It serves as an essential shield, protecting the inner auto-darkening lens and sensors from sparks, scratches, and debris to ensure clear vision and long-term durability.
  2. For storage, please set the mode switch to the "Grind" position.
  3. The helmet has an operating temperature range of -5°C to +55°C (23°F to 131°F). For storage, no specific temperature is required – simply keep it at room temperature.
We hope this information is helpful.

I had ask what is the purpose of the flexible plastic on the front of the helmet. I think he is mistaken about it, as I have some flat solid plastic parts that are replacement for the shields that are in there now.
Sales, what do they know?

The user manual did not have the operating temp range or any info on what to do for storage. So now I do have that info.

Richard
P.S. more new coming up soon on my mower upgrade.

I finished the welding. This photo below shows the new beam and the support that bolts it to the original front beam on the mower. The shaft is from an outboard boat motor that I repaired a long time ago. And yes, I cut it off and it is welded in place. I didn't get a photo of the finished mounting bracket.

Here is the front view of the new beam

1763700423437.jpeg

Here it mounted on the mower with the wheels in the new beam.

And here is the problem I didn't foresee. I wanted to keep the same track width as the original, but as you can see from the photo, the original beam limits the turning radius, the inside of the wheel hits the original wheel support.
With the cool/cold weather coming on, this will mark the end of the work for this year.

Richard
