Just a side note, if I could only have one saw, the deep cut portable would be my choice.

I have a good cold cut saw so the portaband would be redundant.

For metal cutting I have the stationary band saw, porta band, regular chop saw, plasma cutter 12" shear, beverly shear and a few angle grinders. All get used for various jobs, none are redundant. In some cases I will utilize the mill , like internal cuts, where no saw will suffice.
