Well I went off the deep end the other day. Bought the 955...........has the 72" deck and would like to get a 60" deck. Have search and I think that the 755,855 decks will fit my 955 but kinda confused on what arms to use.

Thanks

I was told my 60" MMM deck came off a 955.
(M2734x or M2754x ? serial number)

Mounted right up to my JD855 (1987) with the brackets (front and mid) just fine.

Had to make up a set of lift arms. Easy enough.

Also had to get a PTO shaft for the 855 tractor.

I have a 955 x 60" mmm pto shaft for sale.........

Good luck.

What was different about the shaft? I thought the 855 and 955 used the same frame, etc.

The '87 855 shared the same frame as the 755. I think around '90 or when the 955 was introduced, the 855 switched to that newer longer frame. This is why early 855s had the fuel tank and air filter/battery switched like the 755 and used the 70 model loader instead of 70A like the 955.
