I am replacing the battery in a 8n, what would make the battery cables to get hot. I think this is a 6v system.

As the name implies I am lost in space.

Make sure the polarity is correct. 6 volt system the positive is ground.

Make sure that your cables are not corroded under the insulation. I had one actually catch fire when I was boosting the battery.
