IIRC there was a guy who was on here for a while and left. People were commenting about his wife and he took offense. Very attractive lady and always wearing tight clothes. Morgans....or something like that.

He seems to make money at it. Seen a few of his videos but it got old quick.

I use it mostly for playing music, and for a while I was watching old B/W westerns. This is the first time I ever used it for reference and that's just because I need lights couldn't find it anywhere else.
Yeah, I mostly use if for music videos but occasionally will watch a how-to one. I'd prefer a written step-by-step with a few key photos but no one seems to be doing that anymore.
I guess scantily clad women making videos for male dominated topics is a big seller on YouTube. I guess that is nothing new.
Ya think?? :ROFLMAO:
As you noted, nothing new. I recall that subject being mentioned in a psychology course I took in college back in the 60s. How many ads for muscle cars did you see back then that DIDN'T feature an attractive, scantily clad woman in it? Betcha could count them on the fingers one hand.

I remember him. Think he was in Maine somewhere. ISTR some posters here calling him out for posting semi-pornographic pictures of his wife and he got kind of huffy about it.

Watch a possibly helpful video at double speed, sound off, to see if it has anything useful, then replay the good part at normal speed.

Each You Tube video has a timeline with the most rewatched parts accentuated. Just go the high point sections to see the meat and potatoes of the video.

I have used YouTube to help me out. I guess I am not very talented at some stuff.

But it irks me to spend 15 minutes to get 3 minutes of useful information.

I am glad they get "dinged" if people tune out part way through. Some are just terrible.
Yes, they do get dinged. I'm not sure that it changes the production quality of poor posters, but I keep hoping.
Is that true? I have been wondering that because I do it all the time and I always wonder if the computer takes note of that. It would make sense that they do.
See my earlier post on how YouTube does their compensation. Tuning out, or jumping in only for parts of it, all gets factored into "viewer engagement", so yes, they get dinged for poor content.

All the best,

Peter

Most anyone can post a YT video and some on here do it as well. I don't and don't want to.

I watch YT video's strictly for entertainment and not much else other than looking at what the camera sees that the 'creator' don't.

Like the Boston Trucker. I subscribed to his video's but cancelled the subscription after he got boring and way too commercialized. At first they were very entertaining but when that went south, so did I.

I dont understand why the hate for Youtube here. I could care less if they are making money or not, Youtube has saved me literally thousands of dollars thanks to people that put together very details "how to" videos. I am very capable and highly mechanically inclined but I have no shame at all in looking for technical videos on how to do things from Youtube. I followed a multi video step by step walk through on how to completely rebuild the timing system on my old truck, saved me about $2500! Of course there are goons that put out junk videos but its not hard to weed them out.
