I am new to the forum and have been looking for info because I believe you can fix just about any thing if you do your leg wok on the web. Our local land trust has a 7200 diesel 4x4 with manual transmission. I am charged with keeping it running. The front drive shaft and shield keep falling off and getting all beat up and clogged with grass. Does any one know how I can fix it. I can fabricate and weld. I would rather improve it than putting the say expensive and flimsy shield back on. What forums should I be looking at any other sights.

Which part keeps falling off the driveshaft or just the shield?
The shield, then the drive shaft when it gets wrapped in grass. Just got back from looking at it and now the seal at the output shaft is leaking and the shaft is bent a little. Because it is a land trust tractor I got a bunch of unexpierenced peolpe running it. What I ned to do is get a way to hold on the shield so it wont get torn off again. Can the seal on the out put shaft be changed without splitting the tractor? Can I jam orings in there te seal the shaft? I need some good farm boy vodoo fix.
