Nope... That's all I can say.... WOW!!!!

Seriously though... It has made a tremendous difference in biting into the packed soil. Before it took a lot of "burling and pawing" with the tractor to loosen up a bucketful. I notice now it can hold a grade or a plane better too versus the bucket dipping down and digging in and stalling the tractor requiring constantly making bucket adjustments. Much better for keeping the excavated surface area clean and smooth and graded without having to go back over it again. Another added benefit is that you gain a little bit more bucket capacity with the extended lip of the tooth bar.

The "bolt-on" method is definitely "quick attach" enough for me and I have no issues with drilling the holes in the bucket. I was however, questioning and thinking as I was installing it about a couple nit-pickey things.

First... the directions say to put the nuts on the inside of the bucket. I don't 100% agree with that logic. As I see it, there is more opportunity for damage and wear to the exposed threads and nut on the inside of the bucket.

Secondly, I was thinking the slotted hole would lend itself better to the use of a carriage bolt inserted from the inside-out. This would be a better low-profile solution. There would be less to stick up and wear as there would be neither a flat washer or lock washer required on the inside either.

Thirdly, I would have much preferred a nylon locknut than using a lock washer. I'm not a fan of lock washers for several reasons. They break, they add length, they will add burs to the nut that can affect the torque, less prone to vibration failure or come loose than a locknut, and so on... Forgo the lock washers and use a nylon or another type of lock nut.

Lastly... I was thinking it would be nice to have the bolt on tab to be bigger and triangular in shape to serve a dual purpose as a Piranha cutting edge for the vertical wall of the bucket as well. I realize this would be tough to make one pattern work for all types of buckets though.

Well I am still not too keen on poking holes in my new machine, but I bought this anyway. I really think it will help me with the next phase of my little project, and I am going to give it a try at leveling some very bumpy land I have at the back of my property.

I also need to dig out and clear some fallen brush in my pond, so I am thinking between this and the grapple I can take out the fallen trees, and also dig it down some more.

In looking I did not see many videos on youtube about this bar....I will be sure to take some photos and video of this in action.

As an alternative if you don't want to drill a hole, you could weld it on with a couple of tacks. If you don't like it they could easily be cut/ground off easily enough and you would never know it was on there. That wont be "quick attach" anymore obviously, but I'll bet once you have it on, you will fall in love with it, and you wont ever want to take it off.

I also have the Ratchet Rake, and I really like it, but this I think will be much better at digging, and "scalping" I want to take a layer off the top and just leave the dirt under. I think this (PTB) will excel at that, as well as digging in general. I just ordered it this morning, it would be great if it made it here before the long weekend, but I doubt it will.

I really see the PTB and the RR as very different tools. I think both are going to be on the machine a great deal...but as is you have to take off the RR if you want to put anything in the bucket....this you can leave it on and still so scooping of things like gravel and such.

I Installed mine today and it worked like a charm cutting but I did have problems drawing what I cut back and so far I will blame it on operator error. I am not to big of a fan coming up and back dragging on my cylinders going backwards. It will definitely will put some dirt in your FEL if you not watching what your doing if your going forward.
