I've never been afraid to tackle tough problems, but may have bitten off more that I should.
My injector pump no longer delivered fuel to the top injector ports, so I pulled the pump and took it apart.
I noticed that the rack and pinion fuel shut off mechanism was jammed by a broken tooth from one of the 3 pinion gears.
I removed the damaged tooth(and am waiting for the new part to arrive) but am wondering about reassembly.
The orientation of the pinion relative to the fuel shut off rack will obviously affect the function of the pump to shut off/or allow fuel to flow.
I can't find anything in my service manual on this level of detail, so hoping someone here has the knowledge they would be willing to share.
