I got a line on a used 7ft leinbach disk harrow for a great price. Is that probably to big for my ym2000. Would hate to pass up on this as its a great dealm

It's too big. That said, it would be great for a second levelling pass after you have torn up the ground with something half that size.

My YM240 (US version YM2000) came with a 6 ft Leinbach disc. I was told they had been used together several times to disc a flood-irrigated, dead level walnut orchard. I couldn't pull the thing uphill in my sloping orchard.

Later I found a 4 ft Lienbach and that feels about right.

I have posted about these discs - see these old threads:

well, you could remove some of the discs to make it lighter and a narrower cut. maybe even fully modify frame and axles to your desired width. if the price is right, custom fitting it to your tractor may just be worth the effort. you will never have to many toys to choose from for a job.

Yes Sir, I agree, my YM1600 feels the best after removing the 4 outer most disc's. See Pixs, ran field tests today.

How much $, those things are not cheap new.
The only issue would be its weight while lifted with the 3pt for getting around. ? add weight to the front bumper. I see allot of folks adding weight on their Disc Harrows so they will cut deeper. Probably no need with 7 footer running fewer discs.

If you look at pix you will see I removed the four outer discs on my 5' model. I plan to run more tests using 8 smaller diameter discs mix matched alternately seeing if it will cut well by only having 8 cutting deep and 8 not so deep just breaking up raised clumps.

Something like that could be done with a 7 foot model. No guarantee's, but if it is not all that expensive initially to try, it may be worth it.
