6011 Break test.

I have a 5 lbs box of air liquied 6011 and 6013. I have been using the 6013 like the 6011, so I think that is my problem. When I have tried to drag it, I cant get a close enough arc. I am sure the problem is me, because they are quality rods, and I am not a quality welder.:laughing:

Keep practicing you'll get there. I was about you age when my dad showed me how to weld. 6013 was all he had on hand. Then somebody gave him some really nasty 6011 which I had to use after that. I learned with the 6011, and I am fine at holding the arc, I just need to work on travel speed. It is just a matter of figuring out how to drag the 6013, I will have to try it when I can.

In every post , video and article I've read the all say the same thing watch the puddle not the arc. You'll have that eureka moment when you really see whats happening. Also go to U- Tube and check out welding tips and tricks, or Jodys website/www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/ Lots of good info there on all welding proses

Thanks for the advice, I will check that site out. My dad has taught me how to weld, and he always says watch the puddle not the arc. I am getting better at that, I just need more practice.
